Why Can’t I Change Even When I Know What to Do?

Because knowing isn’t what changes the pattern. 


Change happens when you respond differently in the moment and that takes awareness and practice.


This is where most people get frustrated.


You’ve read the books.
You’ve listened to the podcasts.
You understand what’s happening.


And still…

nothing changes. 

Knowledge isn’t the problem

And it’s not the solution either.


Understanding the pattern doesn’t break the pattern.


Because the pattern doesn’t live in what you know.

It lives in how you respond

In real time.


When something happens:

  • a trigger 
  • a thought 
  • a feeling 

Your system reacts automatically.


Trigger → reaction → spiral


And that reaction is not based on what you know.

It’s based on what you’ve practiced.


So even if you know exactly what to do…

your system will still default to what it’s been trained to do.


That’s why it feels like nothing is changing


Because you’re trying to solve it with understanding.


When the change happens through action.


The moment that matters most


Is not when you’re thinking about it.


It’s when it’s happening.


That moment when:

  • the thought starts 
  • the feeling hits 
  • the reaction is about to happen 

That’s where change lives.


And most people miss it


Because they’re not aware of it yet.

“Awareness is the first step to change.” 


Without awareness:

you react


With awareness:

you can choose


There are always two paths


React (what you’ve practiced)
Respond (what changes it)


Trigger + Ego = Anxiety

Trigger + Pause + Reframing = Peace, Freedom and Detachment 


That shift doesn’t happen because you understand it.


It happens because you do something different in the moment.
